Rockway wear parts in operation at a crushing plant

About Rockway

One supplier,
the whole operation

Rockway develops and supplies spare and wear parts for quarries, mining and the cement industry. We support the complete operation — drilling, earthmoving, transport, crushing, screening, classification and milling — from blast to final product.

Our origin

Three decades of seeing where parts fall short

So we stopped choosing between a premium promise and a cheap gamble, and kept refining the line we wanted to buy from.

Our team spent over three decades in mining — developing, manufacturing and distributing parts across every stage of the operation. Long enough to see the parts operators were buying disappoint in the same two ways, again and again: premium parts sold on a lifecycle promise they didn't keep, and low-cost parts that turned a small saving into a stopped plant.

Every one of those lessons went into our own manufacturing lines, and still does: the alloys, the heat treatment, the machining tolerances and the stock depth that decide whether a part reaches its next scheduled shutdown — state of the art at every stage of production, and nothing that only exists to justify a price.

Our facilities

Walk the plants that make your parts

We don't just broker parts — we cast, machine, cure and stock them ourselves, to specifications we are willing to put our name against. Six stops on the tour:

  • 01 Casting
  • 02 Machining
  • 03 Mill
  • 04 Balls
  • 05 Conveyor
  • 06 Stock

01 · Casting line

Quality starts at the first heat

Every heat is poured to a written alloy specification and sampled before it leaves the furnace. Manganese steels are water-quenched and read for hardness; the certificate that travels with the part is the one from its own cast, not a family average.

  • Spectrometer reading on every heat, filed against the part number
  • Mn14, Mn18 and Mn22 poured to order
  • Physical-chemical certificate per cast, shipped with the parts

02 · Machining

Finished to OEM tolerance

Castings go straight to CNC, where mounting faces, bores and bolt patterns are cut to the original drawing. A part that has to be shimmed on site was not finished properly here.

  • Mounting faces and bores cut to the original drawing
  • First-article dimensional check before a batch continues
  • Bolt patterns verified against the OEM print

03 · Liner sets

Sets, not singles

Liners are matched and shipped as a set, so a chamber closes on parts cast from the same heat and machined in the same run. Mixing one new liner into a worn set is how a good part gets blamed for a bad fit.

  • Chamber sets matched by cast and machining run
  • Wear profiles checked against the machine’s own geometry
  • Packed and labelled by position, ready to fit

04 · Grinding media

Hardness you can sample

Forged and cast grinding media are quenched, tempered and sectioned, so surface and core hardness are read on the same ball. We keep the samples, which means a question about a delivered lot can be answered from the lot itself.

  • Surface and core hardness read on a sectioned ball
  • Retained samples per lot, kept after despatch
  • Forged and cast media, matched to the mill’s duty

05 · Belting

Built and cured in-house

Belts are built up and vulcanised on our own presses, so splices and cover grades are ours to answer for. Cleats, sidewalls and pulley lagging are cured in the same shop.

  • Vulcanised splices, cured on our own presses
  • Cover grades specified for the material being carried
  • Cleats, sidewalls and lagging from the same shop

06 · Stock

On the rack, not on back-order

The parts that stop a plant are the ones we hold: undercarriage, ground-engaging tools, liners and fasteners, racked and counted. A stoppage is not the moment to start a casting.

  • Fast-moving wear parts held, not made to order
  • Racked by family and counted against the system
  • Picked and packed from stock, ready to ship

Why it matters

Fewer stoppages.
Longer life.
Lower cost per tonne.

Parts for every stage of processing, with technical support that keeps working after delivery. We know the field first-hand: how plants run and what every hour of downtime costs.

We add advanced metallurgy and precision manufacturing — the part arrives, is mounted, and the equipment produces again.

Mission

Keep production running. Every part we supply is a direct replacement engineered to outlast the one it replaces — so the machine goes back to work and stays there.

Vision

Best in class, in every family. Whatever wears out in open pit mining, cement plants and related industries, we intend to be the supplier worth calling first — and the only one you need to call.
